FAMBRAS president attends dinner to celebrate Saudi Arabia’s National Day

 

Last night (19), the president of the Federation of Muslim Associations of Brazil – FAMBRAS, Dr. Mohamed Hussein El Zoghbi, attended the dinner celebrating the National Date of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in Brasilia – DF. The event celebrated the 93rd anniversary of the country’s formation.

The ceremony highlighted the reforms that have been taking place in the country as part of Vision 2030 – a development plan announced by the Saudi government to transform and diversify the country’s economic base, with major investments mainly in agribusiness, trade, and minerals.

The country’s independence was declared on September 23, 1932. On this holiday, Saudis perform traditional dances and decorate their houses in honor of the royal decree of King Abdul Azziz Ibn Saud. The president of FAMBRAS presented the nation’s ambassador, Mr. Faisal Ibrahim Ghulam, with a plaque in honor of National Day.

Promoted by the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Brazil, the event took place at the Clube Naval de Brasília, and was attended by several other personalities, such as ambassadors and political and religious authorities.
