Food and hygiene products delivered to 150 socially vulnerable families

The donation is part of the calendar of the ESG Agenda (Environment, Social, and Governance) of the FAMBRAS Group, which travels through various neighborhoods of the capital promoting human dignity.

Reaching out to 150 families in situations of social vulnerability, the FAMBRAS Group distributed food and personal hygiene products to residents of Parque Jabaquara neighborhood this morning (16). The action took place at the Cruz de Malta Association on World Food Day, which this year raises awareness about practices to improve global nutrition and is part of the ESG Agenda.

According to the State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World (SOFI) report by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), approximately 70.3 million Brazilians, corresponding to almost 40% of the population, were food insecure in 2022. In some cases, there is chronic malnutrition, a situation that is more aggravating than hunger.

Housewife Elma Pereira Gil was happy to be assisted by the donation. “I just have to say thank you for the assistance we are receiving here. Receiving these products is essential for me to continue providing meals for my children and looking after my home. Just like on other occasions, I’m happy to be remembered as a human being”.

A FAMBRAS team distributed the food and hygiene products to those in need. To better control the deliveries, beneficiaries picked up vouchers from the organization’s collaborators during the week. Women heads of households, the elderly, and people with disabilities were among those benefiting from the action, which lasted approximately an hour and a half.

To ensure the event went as planned, the FAMBRAS Group’s team had the support of members of the Cruz de Malta Association, including Edimar Soares, in charge of the warehouse. He also took the opportunity to talk about the activities and work carried out in the space for the community, including a pastry course, physical education, among others.
