Brazilian Armed Forces Receive Tribute from FAMBRAS at Dinner Celebrating Peacekeeping Missions

The Federation of Muslim Associations of Brazil (FAMBRAS) held a dinner yesterday (10th) to honor the Brazilian Armed Forces and their Peacekeeping Missions. The event, which took place at the Naval Club of Brasília, was attended by both civilian and military authorities and aimed to recognize the important contribution of the Armed Forces to peace and security, both in Brazil and in international missions.
Among the honorees were the Coordinator of the Sub-chief of International Operations and Navy Captain (Marine Corps) André Cavalcanti da Silva Mello; the General Coordinator of the Employment Section of the Sub-chief of International Operations and Army Colonel José Osni dos Santos; the Deputy Chief of International Operations and Rear Admiral (Marine Corps) Stewart da Paixão Gomes; Rear Admiral Washington Luiz de Paula Santos, who received the tribute on behalf of the Brazilian Navy; Brigadier General Ricardo Luiz da Cunha Rabelo, on behalf of the Brazilian Army; Air Major Brigadier José Ricardo de Menezes Rocha, for the Brazilian Air Force; Brigadier Quartermaster José Roberto de Queiroz Oliveira, representing the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces; and the Chief of Staff of the Minister of Defense, Marcelo Martins Pimentel, who received the tribute on behalf of the Minister of Defense, José Múcio.
Diplomatic representatives from Palestine, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Egypt, China, Azerbaijan, Iran, Bangladesh, Libya, Algeria, Ivory Coast, Suriname, Armenia, Iraq, Indonesia, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia, Sudan, Mauritania, Colombia, Japan, and the Arab League were also in attendance.
Notable personalities included Minister of the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU), Augusto Nardes, and the director of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, Mohamad Abdouni Neto.
Representing FAMBRAS were Mohamed Charanek, Legal Director; Ibrahim Abou Nimri, Director of Events; Carlos Dias, Director of Communications and Marketing; and Nazelie Bozian, Assistant to the Presidency, all of whom attended the dinner.
During the event, FAMBRAS Vice President Ali Zoghbi delivered a speech highlighting the crucial role of the Armed Forces in maintaining peace and order, both domestically and abroad. He also emphasized the importance of Peacekeeping Missions, which carry Brazil’s name to various countries, always with a strong humanitarian commitment. Delduque Martins, Director of Projects and Institutional Relations at FAMBRAS, was also present, underscoring the importance of this gathering to strengthen dialogue between different sectors of Brazilian society.
The courses offered by FAMBRAS at the Rio Branco Institute, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and professional organizations such as the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) and the National Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock (CNA) were remembered as some of the key activities conducted by the Federation. Additionally, the contribution of FAMBRAS Vice President Ali El Zoghbi, who serves as a professor in the military training course, was highlighted for promoting the understanding and dissemination of the Halal concept and Islamic culture in Brazil.
Air Major Brigadier José Ricardo de Menezes Rocha delivered a speech on behalf of the Ministry of Defense, in which he reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Armed Forces to national sovereignty and the promotion of international peace through Peacekeeping Missions. He emphasized the pride Brazil takes in seeing its military personnel operate in conflict zones around the world, bringing not only security but also hope and humanitarian aid to affected populations. The Major Brigadier expressed his gratitude to FAMBRAS for the tribute and stressed the importance of partnerships between civilian and military institutions to strengthen the bonds of solidarity and cooperation in favor of peace and development.
