During a visit to the International Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates, FAMBRAS aims to formalize partnerships to carry out educational initiatives

The Federation of Muslim Associations in Brazil (FAMBRAS) visited the International Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates last Sunday (10) in Cairo, Egypt’s capital. During the meeting, discussions took place regarding collaboration between the organization and the Federation in various areas, notably the establishment of a branch in Brazil and the creation of a center for teaching the Arabic language to non-native speakers.

Dr. Mohamed El Zoghbi, President of FAMBRAS, accompanied by Bassim El Zoghbi, the entity’s executive director, familiarized themselves with the diverse activities conducted by the organization. He expressed interest in involving the Federation in the scope of the organization’s initiatives. In essence, a closer collaboration between both parties was sought. As part of this potential partnership, the translation of the organization’s books into the Portuguese language was discussed.

During the agenda, the Federation’s president closely observed the organization’s efforts, which focus on correcting misconceptions and providing accurate explanations of Islam through courses. He also gained access to the magazine “Noor,” which produces animated content about the Islamic faith and explains the behavior that a Muslim should adopt; the material is already available in the Portuguese language.

The FAMBRAS leadership was welcomed by Dr. Mohamed El Mahrasawi and Mr. Osama Yassin, vice-presidents of the board of directors of the International Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates, along with Dr. Abdel Dayem Nasir, the organization’s secretary-general, and advisor to His Eminence the Sheikh of Al-Azhar.
