King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid Delivers 297 Tons of Donations to Populations Affected by Hurricane Beryl in the Caribbean

In response to the severe consequences of Hurricane Beryl, which in July 2024 caused loss of life and destroyed parts of the islands of Grenada and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid carried out an extensive project to support the affected populations.
The initiative involved 297 tons of supplies distributed in two phases: 192 tons to Grenada and 105 tons to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Among the donated items were food, electric generators, rechargeable lamps, forklift machines, as well as medical supplies, health materials, and equipment for emergency shelters.
Logistics Managed by FAMBRAS
FAMBRAS, the Federation of Muslim Associations of Brazil, played a crucial logistical role in this mission. The organization was responsible for collecting, storing, and managing the operations of sending humanitarian aid from Brazil to Grenada, Saint Vincent, and the Grenadines, totaling 21 containers for Grenada and 20 containers for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
The first phase of the distribution of donations included formal ceremonies in each country, gathering representatives from the local governments and representatives from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the ceremony was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, External Trade, and Consumer Affairs, Frederick Stevenson, and the Minister of Health and Environment, St. Clair Jimmy Prince. In Grenada, the event saw the participation of the Prime Minister, Dickon Mitchell, along with the delegation from the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid, consisting of Mohammed Al-Subban, Project Director; Mishal Al-Mutairi, Media Supervisor; and Sultan Al-Jarbou, Purchasing Supervisor.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was represented at both ceremonies by the Ambassador to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, His Excellency Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Sihani. Representing FAMBRAS was Mr. Ahmed Khalaf, Director of International Programs and Strategic Relations in the Humanitarian Sector.
Additionally, the teams from FAMBRAS’s Projects Department and the Communication and Marketing sector closely monitored the activities, providing support from the donation procurement process to the coverage and organization of the events.
The Prime Minister of Grenada and the ministers of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines expressed deep gratitude and appreciation to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince, and the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid, emphasizing the importance of this aid in alleviating the suffering of the affected populations.
This initiative reaffirms the King Salman Center’s commitment to promoting solidarity and providing assistance to the most vulnerable populations in times of crisis, strengthening humanitarian ties between countries and bringing hope in difficult times.
